Impact Analysis of Location on the Market Value of Housing Units in Selected Locations

The thesis focuses on the comparison of selected methods for valuated property type apartment. Valuating apartments are located in areas Decin, Ústí nad Labem and Most. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of basic terms, a description of the valuation methods associated with this dissertation and description of locations for the sites in terms of historical, cultural, social and economic. The practical part was to prepare drawings of assessed residential units and subsequent determination of prices of selected valuation methods – comparative method price by 2014 and 2015, by direct comparison and revenue method. In conclusion, the comparison of prices, according to the valuation method sused.

The development of the culture of remembrance of the Sudeten Germans and their expulsion in Ústí nad Labem after 1989

The aim of the thesis is to explore how the culture of remembrance regarding the Sudeten Germans and their expulsion developed in Ústí nad Labem after 1989. The author tries to find out what were the forms of remembrance and commemoration and which actors participated in it and moved it forward. The thesis mentions how the elected political representation of the city contributed to the commemoration or what was the role of the state for instance in establishing institutions or museums focusing on remembering Germans and expulsion. The role of the public and citizens association is mentioned as well. Since the culture of remembrance includes all forms of remembering, the thesis not only focuses on the important moments of the city when the commemorative plaques were first unveiled, but the author also emphasizes another form of public remembrance as culture or cultural heritage. Ústí nad Labem was historically shaped by the German population and at the end of the Second World War one of the massacres of the German population took place here, it is necessary to mention the historical context in the first part. History of the German-speaking Inhabitants of the Czech lands in the Museum: Comparison of the Exhibitions Experience Homeland and Our Germans

The master thesis examines and compares two new museum exhibitions dedicated to the history of the German-speaking population of the Czech lands. These are the exhibition Experience Homeland in the Sudeten German Museum in Munich and Our Germans in the Ústí nad Labem City Museum. The subject of the analysis is the creation and current form of these exhibitions and the story of history they present to the visitor. Both exhibitions were documented and compared on the basis of a catalogue of questions based on a critical analysis of historical sources. The results of the analysis show that, although both museums were planned in the same time period and in an atmosphere that encouraged a shared critical perspective on the previously different interpretations of Czech-German history, the final forms of the two museums continue to present a significant part of history in different ways, and neither has fully fulfilled its original intent. The exhibitions present the 18th and 19th century periods very similarly and also critically reflect the development of nationalism among both Czech and German speakers. Unfinished higway D8: traffic, environmental and economical consequences

This bachelor thesis deals with the unfinished D8 highway, especially the section headed through the protected landscape area of České středohoří, and with the problems arising from this situation. The theoretical part is devoted to describing the negative effects caused by vehicle traffic, possibilities of their elimination and the history of highway construction with the other alternatives. In the empirical part is solved the traffic situation on congested roads that substitute this unfinished section and the resulting consequences in terms of emission. Supporting the tourism in the Ústí region after 2000

The diploma thesis is aimed to tourism and its development in case studies by the Ústí region and the town of Ústí nad Labem. In the theoretical frame, definitions utilized in case studies are defined. Devoted to the Ústí region, the case study analyzes conceptual documents, dealing with tourism and its development as well as its priorities and measures. The study then describes a new regional project, called "Gate into Bohemia" (and new destination agencies together with it). The chapter is finished with future plans of the Ústí region. Similarly, development documents are analyzed in Ústí nad Labem, emphasizing tourism and projects, realized by the municipality in terms of tourism or revitalizing the town (as well as possible future plans again). Another chapter deals with the structure of tourism concepts; its basis is represented by the author's own proposal, compared with selected concepts of the region and town.

The Massacre of Aussig in Sudeten German memory culture

(in English): Bachelor Thesis "The Massacre of Aussig in Sudeten German memory culture" describes the role the so called "Massacre of Aussig" had in the memory culture of the Sudeten Germans from Ústí region, organized arround the Aussiger Hilfsverein This developement is delimitated by the years 1945 - 1973. In this time period, the major forms of rememberance used until this day had established themselves. This description of developement of memory culture, especially the graudal of communicative memory into collective and cultural memory as well as methods of instrumentalisation and actualization of these events is based on theoretical works of Aleida Assmann, Jörn Rüsen and others.

Czechs and Germans in Ústí nad Labem in the 20th century. History and historiographical reflexion.

This bachelor thesis deals with the coexistence of Czechs and Germans in Ústí nad Labem in the 20th century. In the first part of this thesis, I will focus on social and cultural aspects of Czech-German coexistence and pay attention to the associations, organisations and facilities which are depicted in the backround of historical events in the mentioned period. I also refered to the political development and changes in the composition of its population since the beginning of German colonization until 1950. The second part deals with the reflection of the current Czech-German coexistence in the region, particularly at the workplaces of the local University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně and in the projects of the Collegium Bohemicum. It also outlined how Usti nad Labem will participate in the Czech-German issues in the near future.

Artistic creation of the German artist Fritz Gärtner and his influence on the Northern Bohemian region

(in English): This thesis seeks to examine the state of the fine art in North Bohemia region at the turn of the 20th century. The period is dominated by romantic and realistic landscape art, which was also the domain of Fritz Gärtner. The thesis furthermore illuminates the life of German artists before and after the World War I in this region. The work focuses on Metznerbund group as it is considered the major movement among the German artists within the given period. Following chapters aim to illuminate the state of the fine art in North Bohemia region after the Second World War.The practical part of the thesis examines the life and work of a Sudeten German painter Fritz Gärtner: his early work from his hometown Ústí nad Labem, his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and his first considerable exhibition named Arbeit (Labor). The research provides us with new findings that complement previous findings from my bachelor's thesis, which was focused on interpretation of selected Gärtners paintings, resulting in a complete monography of the Sudeten German painter. The research was based on secondary literature concerning the fine art in North Bohemia region and provides a broad scale of new facts about the artistic creation and life of painters within fine art associations in the 20th century.

North Bohemian panel construction: Comparison of housing estates Severní Terasa, Ruprechtice and Březenecká

The topic of this bachelor's thesis is a comparison of three selected North Bohemian housing estates, which are the Březenecká housing estate in Chomutov, the Severní Terasa housing estate in Ústí nad Labem and the Ruprechtice housing estate in Liberec. These housing estates will be compared within three categories: construction and used technology; architecture and aesthetics of the housing estate; and demographic structure of the housing estate. These housing estates were selected according to the principles of comparability. In all three cases, these housing estates are panel buildings, designed in the 1960s and their construction began in 1970 at the latest. All of the housing estates were built in the North Bohemian Region. In addition to the comparison of housing estates, this work also contains a theoretical insight into the history of the construction of panel buildings in Czechoslovakia.
